What Odin AI does
Odin AI is described by its vendor as a desktop AI companion for Windows and macOS. It can respond to what is shown on screen, run longer background tasks, and use the mouse and keyboard for selected work through Act Mode. This site provides independent informational summaries based on current vendor documentation.
Operating modes
Guide Mode
Shows you the next step on screen while you complete the task yourself. Lowest risk, but still requires attention to instructions.
Act Mode
Performs selected on-screen actions using your mouse and keyboard in your actual desktop or browser session. It can interact with real files, applications, and accounts. You can stop the process at any time, but you should supervise sensitive or irreversible work closely.
Background Mode
Runs research, coding, and file-related tasks through a background process while you continue with other work. Important results should still be reviewed.
Your responsibilities
- Test automation in a safe environment before using on production files or accounts
- Maintain backups of important files
- Review task instructions carefully before allowing Act Mode to run
- Do not leave sensitive tasks unattended
